Ottawa man generates Christmas warmth for Toronto street
6 Toronto families celebrate holidays with heat, light thanks to Ottawa man
A man gave up spending Christmas with his family in Ottawa to help his sister deal with a power outage in Toronto, and is now helping several other families on her street.
John Robertson lives in the Yukon but spends winters in Ottawa. He left his wife and family there to help his sister after the ice storm knocked out power to thousands of people.
Now he's being called Saint John by some people on his sister's street.
Every four or five hours, Robertson moves a generator from one house to another to help keep the people inside warm and prevent their pipes from freezing.
