A Mississauga man is dead after his vehicle failed to make a turn and smashed into a construction trailer parked adjacent to a ramp on Highway 403.
The crash happened just before 4:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Dave Woodford said it is believed that the vehicle was travelling at an "excessive speed" when it attempted to make a turn from the eastbound lanes of the highway onto Mavis Road.
"The Honda Accord exited at Mavis Road and didn’t make the curve," he told CBC News in an interview.
"It looks like it was travelling at excessive speed…and it left the roadway and struck a construction trailer that was parked over on the median."
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one was working at the construction scene at the time of the crash.
