OPP say BMW driver fled accident, drove 'erratically' on 401
Kitchener, Ont., woman faces 3 charges including flight from police
A Kitchener, Ont., woman is accused of fleeing an accident overnight, driving "erratically" on Highway 401 and then failing to stop for an OPP officer that tried to pull her over.
The OPP say they received a call about a blue BMW "travelling erratically" along the eastbound Highway 401 in Mississauga, Ont., at 12:52 a.m. Sunday.
In a news release, police say they were told that the driver had been involved in a collision, but kept on moving along the highway.
The OPP say that one of their officers caught up with the vehicle in Toronto, on Highway 427, north of Highway 401, and attempted to stop it. Police allege the driver kept on going and then exited the highway on Rexdale Boulevard.
That driver was subsequently stopped at Rexdale Boulevard and Martin Grove Road.
Bojana Jokovic, 29, of Kitchener, faces charges of flight from a police officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
The accused was released on a promise to appear. She is due in court on June 17.
