Ont. search for missing pilot underway near Lake Scugog

Canadian Forces and civilian search and rescue teams are looking for a pilot who went missing aboard his plane near Lake Scugog in southeastern Ontario.

Canadian Forces and civilian search and rescue teams are looking for a pilot who went missing along with his plane near Lake Scugog in southeastern Ontario.

The aircraft left Caesarea, Ont., Saturday evening and was en route to Cree Lake, Ont.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Trenton was notified about the missing pilot and aircraft Sunday evening.

Two Hercules planes, two Griffon helicopters, and several civilian air search and rescue aircraft are taking part in the operation.

Rescue officials are not disclosing the identity of the pilot.
