York Regional Police are asking for the public's help identifying the suspect, or suspects, responsible for spray painting a swastika and anti-Islamic slogans on the side of a learning centre in Richmond Hill.
Police were called to the learning centre on Regatta Avenue, near Yonge Street and Bloomington Road in the community of Oak Ridges on Thursday just before 6 a.m. for reports of offensive graffiti.
Officers arrived on scene to find a swastika spray painted on the entrance door and anti-Islamic slogans spray painted on the exterior of the building.
Hate crime investigators have now taken over the investigation and are are asking anyone that might have information on the incident, or has video surveillance in the area, to contact police at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7241 or anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
