Newly-minted Canadians have some advice for refugees arriving here
The 'sky's the limit' but it's important to be informed about the process, new citizens say
A group of newly-minted Canadians has some valuable advice for refugees and those wishing to immigrate here.
CBC News caught up with the new citizens, who were sworn in at a ceremony in Toronto this week, to find out what they've learned about becoming Canadian.
"Sky's the limit because Canada — just like everyone says — is a land of hope and opportunity," said Devin Leveque.
Others, like Somia Beheshti, said researching and knowing what paper work is involved in Canadian life is key. "It's better for them to inform themselves first because you need a lot of documents," she said.
