Peel Regional Police are investigating a collision that left a man dead in Mississauga.

The collision occurred Saturday evening near Kestrel Road and Meyerside Drive.

Police say the victim was driving a 2004 Honda at a high speed before he lost control and his vehicle struck a tree.

The victim, Mohammad Haniff, 29, of Brampton, died at the scene.

Saleem Khan, the man's uncle, told Global News that Haniff had two younger brothers — one of whom was nearby when he was killed.

"He's distraught, he was one of the first people on the scene," Khan said.

Khan described his nephew as "very loving, very caring, very dutiful to his parents and to his family."

A witness told police that a second vehicle was involved in the crash. However, police say it fled the scene.

Police are now trying to find that driver and his vehicle. He is described as a white male with large round face and black hair. He is believed to be 30 to 35 years old. The vehicle may have been a Toyota Camry.
