Toronto and much of southern Ontario is bracing for more messy, winter weather with up to 10 cm of snow today before changing to rain.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement, forecasting snowfall of 5-10 centimetres early Saturday, later changing to rain, making for slippery conditions.
Snow, sleet and rain are making for dangerous driving conditions. Police have warned all drivers to be extra cautious and slow down.
Toronto airports are warning of possible delays due to the weather and are advising travellers check the status of their flights before leaving for the airport.
North of Toronto a snowfall warning remain in effect.
Freezing rain is also possible in the change from snow to rain. The weather agency warns that despite many areas of the city seeing temperatures rise above 0 C, ground level could still be below freezing and result in ice patches on roads.
In the evening the rain is expected to change once again back to snow, and flurries will continue into Sunday.
