Some parts of the Greater Toronto Area could see up to 10 cm of snow by Saturday with the forecast calling for a potentially messy mix of rain and flurries.
An Environment Canada special weather statement says a mix of rain, snow and possibly freezing rain will arrive starting Friday night and continuing through Saturday in a line stretching from Goderich to Kingston.
Flurries will switch to rain, and possibly freezing rain, sometime Saturday afternoon or evening depending on the area with accumulations of up to 15 cm possible in areas to the north of Toronto.
Outside of the city, white-out conditions made driving hazardous in Dufferin County. Dozens of accidents were reported Friday along Highway 10, and schools were closed as the area struggled to dig out from a recent, heavy snowfall.
