Police are investigating after four men disguised as construction workers forced their way into a Mississauga home on Thursday morning.
Peel Regional Police canine units combed the area around a home on Bellagio Crescent, near Terry Fox Way and Bristol Road West, following the alleged home invasion, which occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m.
A woman and a three-year-old boy were inside the home at the time.
Police say the woman escaped and ran down the street with her son. She sustained minor facial injuries.
Police still aren't sure how the men forced their way in, or who owns the home, due to a language barrier. They aren't sure if the men took anything from the home.
They do know that all four men were wearing hard helmets and orange construction vests.
Peel Regional Police Const. George Tudos called the home invasion a "unique" circumstance, and said police don't believe it's linked to any other investigations.
Police have called in a translator to speak to the woman to determine exactly what happened.
