Toronto police said Tuesday that they arrested a Markham man in connection with at least two sexual assaults in Scarborough involving a web-based classified advertisement.
Police said a woman responded to a web-based classified ad for employment. On two separate occasions, the accused made arrangements with the woman to meet him at his place of employment, in northeast Scarborough, for an interview where the victim was sexually assaulted, police allege.
Kandiah Sivaneswaran, 57, of Markham, was charged with two counts of sexual assault on Monday and appeared in a Scarborough court Tuesday.
Police believe there may be other victims.
