A third suspect sought by Toronto police has been arrested, ending a pursuit in which a man fled into a Victoria Park community centre and prompted a lockdown of the building.

Police believed the man might have been armed. Earlier in the afternoon, officers recovered a firearm during a patdown involving a group of suspects in a break and enter call.

All three suspects ran and two were soon arrested. The third suspect entered the O'Connor Community Centre building at 1386 Victoria Park Ave., and investigators with the emergency task force were sent to the scene.

A day care also operates inside the community centre, but Const. Wendy Drummond told CBC News all of the children were safely removed by police and taken to the nearby Clairlea Public School at 25 Rosalind Cres.

"Anybody that has children that attend the day care at the O'Connor day care centre, please be assured there have been no injuries," she said.

"They're in the company of police right now and you can attend the [Clairlea Public School] parking lot to pick up your children there."

The day care was placed in hold and secure, meaning that no entry or exit was permitted.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
