A man was waiting for a bus on Sunday morning when he was allegedly robbed and stabbed in the head, Toronto police say.

The incident occurred near Spadina Avenue and Eglinton Avenue West at about 5:40 a.m., according to police.

Police say the suspect had a knife and approached the victim from behind.

The victim refused to comply when the suspect demanded he hand over valuables.

That’s when police say the suspect “violently assaulted” the victim and stabbed him. There is no word at this time on the victim's condition.

The suspect fled the scene. He is described as a black male, five feet, 10 inches tall, with a thin build, who was wearing a light-blue, hooded sweater and dark khaki pants.
