Man killed in Highway 27 crash in Vaughan

York Regional Police confirm a 55-year-old Toronto man has died following a collision between a car and dumptruck on Highway 27 near Rutherford Road in Vaughan on Wednesday.

Man, 55 of Toronto, died following a crash between a vehicle and dump truck on Highway 27 near Rutherford Road on Wednesday.

York Regional Police confirm a 55-year-old Toronto man has died following a collision between a car and dumptruck on Highway 27 near Rutherford Road in Vaughan on Wednesday.

Police were called to the scene just before 3:00 p.m. and fire crews worked to free the driver trapped in a grey four-door Buick.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the dumptruck was not injured.

Highway 27 was shut down between Major Mackenzie Drive to Rutherford Road for several hours. 

Police would like speak to any witnesses.
