A man in his 50s was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a GO Train on Saturday morning, Toronto EMS said.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene near Danforth Road and Danforth Avenue at 7:40 a.m. ET.

EMS said the man was treated on scene and taken to hospital.

Police said the man was walking along the tracks wearing ear buds before being struck.

GO Transit service was briefly disrupted along the Lakeshore East line as police investigated but was reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
