Toronto police are investigating after a man was found handcuffed and badly beaten in an industrial park early Tuesday.

The 27-year-old man stumbled into a 24-hour paper factory on Milliken Boulevard, near Kennedy Road and Finch Avenue, just after 3 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.

The victim was taken to Toronto's Sunnybrook hospital with life-threatening injuries. Since then he has undergone surgery and is now in stable condition.

Police said they do not yet have any witnesses and have yet to be able to speak with the victim directly.

Police dogs tracked the man’s scent from the place where he was found to another location on the street where they believe he was assaulted.

Due to the fact he was found handcuffed, police checked with other police departments to see if the man had escaped from elsewhere but found he had not been in any police custody across the province.

They continue to look for the victim’s car, said to be a silver BMW, and are attempting to gather video surveillance from the area.

Anyone with any information is being asked to contact investigators in 42 Division.
