Man dies after being shot in torso in Toronto
Toronto police say a man has died after he was shot in the torso on Monday afternoon.
Insp. Tim Crone told reporters that police were called to an address on Swansea Mews, near Windermere Avenue and The Queensway, shortly before 6 p.m.
"When they arrived on scene, shortly thereafter, shots were fired and a male victim was located," Crone said.
The victim was taken to St. Michael's Hospital where Crone said he was pronounced dead.
Crone said the shooting took place in "a common area" outside housing units on the street.
Initial reports suggested the victim was in his late teens or early 20s. Crone said he believed the victim was in his mid-20s.
Crone said police are seeking "at least one suspect" and investigators want to hear from any witnesses to the shooting.
