Elderly man dies in Vaughan house fire

An elderly man was found dead in the kitchen area of a home near Langstaff Road and Weston Road Wednesday morning, Vaughan fire officials have confirmed.

The home is located on Dante Court near Langstaff Road and Weston Road

Vaughan fire crews were called to a home on Dante Court after a report smoke was coming out of the home. An elderly man was found dead in the kitchen, according to Vaughan fire officials. (CBC)

An elderly man was found dead in the kitchen area of a home near Langstaff Road and Weston Road Wednesday morning, Vaughan fire officials have confirmed. 

Fire crews arrived on the scene at Dante Court just after 11 a.m. after a report that smoke was coming out of the house. They put out the fire in the two-storey detached home. 

The man was the only person in the house, according to Vaughan fire. 

The fire marshal is now on the scene investigating alongside police. The cause of the fire has not been released.
