Man charged with second-degree murder in Etobicoke shooting

Toronto police have arrested Frederick Leon, 20, of Toronto, who faces a second degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Etobicoke Tuesday.

Toronto police have arrested and a man in connection with a fatal shooting in Etobicoke earlier this week.

Twenty-year-old Frederick Leon, of Toronto, is charged with second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of Tevin James.

Officers were called to an apartment in the Lake Shore Boulevard West and 11th Street area around 4 a.m. on Tuesday. 

Police found James, 22, of Toronto, with a gunshot wound to his stomach. He later died in hospital. 

Leon was scheduled for a court appearance on Friday.

Police would like to speak to anyone who might have known Leon's whereabouts up until Thursday, Jan. 21.

James is the city's fifth homicide victim of 2016.
