Man charged in double killing north of Toronto

A 47-year-old man has been charged in the deaths of two women in Markham, Ont., following an investigation that was launched after he walked into a local police station.
York Regional Police say the man went to police headquarters in Newmarket on Tuesday "to report an incident."
A subsequent investigation led officers to Markham, where one body was found in a parking lot and another in an apartment building a short distance away.
The victims’ names have not been released because police are still trying to locate their next of kin. Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday.
Police believe the suspect and victims were known to each other, but are still investigating the specifics of their relationship.
David Howe, 47, of Penetanguishene, Ont., has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He appeared in court on Wednesday and is being held in police custody.
