Police have made an arrest in connection with a suspected arson at Toronto's High Park playground earlier this month.
A 19-year-old man is facing charges of arson and obstruction of justice after the Jamie Bell Adventure Playground was destroyed in the early morning hours of March 17.
The large wooden play structure was located near the High Park Boulevard entrance off Parkside Drive.
Families in the park Saturday told CBC News they were happy to hear about the arrest. One man said he hopes the accused will have to help out the community in some way.
People in the area have been collecting donations to rebuild, including $50,000 from Canadian Tire.
The man was released from custody on a promise to appear. His next court appearance was scheduled for May 1.
