Man airlifted to hospital after collision involving school bus
A 68-year-old Burlington, Ont., man suffered serious injuries after the SUV he was driving collided head-on with a school bus in Milton, Ont.
The collision occurred at Guelph Line and the 10th Sideroad on Wednesday afternoon.
The SUV was heading south when it collided with the school bus that was going in the opposite direction on Guelph Line.
A Halton EMS spokesperson told CBC News that one patient was to be transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
An Ornge air ambulance arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to Hamilton General Hospital.
The man was initially said to have critical, life-threatening injuries. Those injuries were later reported to be serious.
Some students on the bus had minor bumps and bruises. The bus driver was shaken after the collision.
The road was closed for five-plus hours as police examined the collision scene.
