Man, 62, killed trying to cross Highway 404
A man was struck and killed while attempting to walk across a Toronto highway this weekend.
The Ontario Provincial Police say the collision happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 404, between Finch and Sheppard avenues, at 12:27 a.m. Saturday.
Police say the man was walking from west to east across the highway when he was struck by a northbound Volkswagen.
The man died as a result of the collision. He was 62 years old.
The OPP did not immediately release his name. Police say the deceased had no fixed address.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt told CBC News that police have yet to locate next of kin as of Sunday afternoon.
The Volkswagen driver was not hurt in the collision.
