Man, 24, charged after overnight Brampton stabbing
18-year-old victim in 'critical, but stable condition,' police say
Police charged a 24-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed someone during an altercation Friday night.
Two men engaged in a fight at a bus stop in Brampton, said Peel Regional Police Const. Thomas Ruttan.
During the altercation, the man allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old man.
Police received a call around 11:30 p.m. Friday and found the victim when they arrived on scene.
He was transported to a trauma centre with critical injuries, said Ruttan. The victim is now in "critical, but stable condition," he said.
Police arrested a suspect and an 18-year-old woman shortly afterwards.
Police charged Shermmar Doyon Cooper, 24, from Brampton with aggravated assault.
He will appear in court Saturday for a bail hearing.
The woman was released unconditionally.
