All eastbound lanes of Highway 401 have now reopened after this morning's closure following a collision and fuel spill.

At approximately 5 a.m., a fuel truck collided with another vehicle. The crash ruptured the tanks on the fuel truck, spilling fuel across all lanes and blocking traffic at Highway 427.

Traffic was diverted onto Eglinton Avenue when all eastbound express lanes were blocked.

The Ontario Provincial Police advised motorists to take alternative travel routs.
