Found in vehicle, rushed to Sunnybrook with life-threatening injuries

Police are investigating a stabbing near the intersection of Kingston and Galloway roads.

A 17-year-old boy was rushed to Sunnybrook hospital after he was found in a vehicle with life-threatening injuries to his upper torso, though investigators were initially uncertain whether he had been shot or stabbed. 

Police at 43 Division were called to the area at about 5:40 a.m. by reports of gunfire. 

A woman who was with the victim is being questioned and investigators are looking for witnesses.

There was no immediate word on possible suspects. 

Police noted that another vehicle crashed into a pole nearby, near Lawrence Avenue East and Orton Park, but that there is no evidence linking the incidents.
