Group of teens slashed man's hand in botched robbery attempt, police say

A man was slashed in the hand and suffered minor injuries after a group of teenage boys attempted to rob him near Sheppard and Keele overnight.

A man was slashed in the hand and suffered minor injuries after a group of teenage boys attempted to rob him near Sheppard Avenue and Keele Street overnight.

Sgt. Rich Sidhu said four boys, ages 12 to 15, saw a man walking down the street and tried to rob him.

The man fought back and suffered a knife slash to his hand during the ensuing altercation. Police described his injuries as minor.

Two suspects, aged 12 and 15, were arrested on a nearby bus and face charges of aggravated assault and robbery.

The other two remain at large.
