Karen Fyfe, Kensington hit-and-run accused, granted bail
Jay McGinn was struck while waiting for a cab
A woman accused of a hit-and-run in Toronto’s Kensington Market has been granted bail.
On the weekend, a man was struck while he waited to get into a taxi on Dundas Street West, near Augusta Avenue. Police allege that the vehicle that struck him fled the scene.
Jay McGinn, the man that was struck, remains in hospital in critical condition.
A day later, police announced an arrest in connection with the case.
Karen Fyfe, 31, of Oshawa, has been charged with fail to stop causing bodily harm. She initially appeared in court on Monday.
Wednesday morning, Fyfe appeared in court and was freed on $15,000 bond.
Friends of McGinn told CBC News on Wednesday they are not happy with the judge's decision to grant Fyfe bail.
