When José Bautista isn't at the plate for the Toronto Blue Jays, he's a father to three young girls.
And it's his life as a father that the batter says has given him a different perspective on life and love.
"It's obviously a huge feeling of responsibility to be caring for another human being's life. But it's something I take a lot of pride in," he told CBC Toronto.
When asked what would be the one thing he would teach his three daughters, Bautista says there are simply too many things to learn and too many things to be taught.
"As a father you can make an effort every single day to be better yourself and to make kids better as well, and I think that's a good path to success."
But Bautista says he is also busy learning himself every day as a father.
"Hopefully I can continue to grow as a father and be the best father I can be."
