A man struck by a vehicle in the Kensington Market area in the early morning hours on May 10 has died of his injuries in hospital, Toronto police confirmed Thursday afternoon.

A man struck by a vehicle in the Kensington Market area in the early morning hours on May 10 has died of his injuries in hospital, Toronto police confirmed Thursday afternoon.

Jay McGinn, 28, had been in critical condition after being hit by a car while waiting for a taxi on Dundas Street West, near Augusta Avenue, around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.  

Karen Fyfe, 31, of Oshawa, Ont., was charged with failing to stop causing bodily harm in the incident. Fyfe was granted bail on Wednesday and freed on a $15,000 bond, and ordered to remain at her parents' home in Whitby, Ont. 

Police told CBC News they expect to upgrade the charge against Fyfe to failing to stop causing death.

McGinn's family says he has donated his organs.
