Homicide unit notified after woman's body found on Mississauga driveway

Homicide detectives have been called to investigate a woman's body that was found this morning in Mississauga.

The woman's next of kin have been notified

Peel police have been called to investigate after a woman's body was found this morning in Mississauga.

Police were called to the scene just after 9 a.m. where the body was found on a driveway on Westmount Avenue in the area of Lakeshore Road East and Cawthra Road. The area is currently cordoned off. 

"The investigation is ongoing by 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau officers, and the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau were notified in relation to it based on the suspicious nature," said Const. Bancroft Wright of Peel police. 

Wright said they have not yet determined whether the woman was murdered.

"It's suspicious circumstances but that determination has not been confirmed as of yet," he told CBC Toronto.

A neighbour, Mike Rauth, said he called police after he saw feet sticking out from under a vehicle this morning when he went out to walk his dog.  

The woman's next of kin have been notified.
