Highway 401 eastbound collectors reopen after motorcycle crash
The eastbound collectors of Highway 401 at Avenue Road have reopened following a motorcycle crash earlier in the afternoon.
Shortly before 2 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police had tweeted that the crash was blocking all of the eastbound collector lanes, east of Avenue Road.
An ambulance was sent to the scene.
A Toronto EMS spokesperson told CBC News that a male patient was being transported to hospital in serious, but non-life threatening condition.
The patient is believed to be approximately 30 years old.
While police had initially reported that the collectors would be closed for several hours, by mid-afternoon they said the lanes were open once again.
