Road crews have cleared the remains of a multi-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer that snarled westbound traffic on Highway 401 at Whites Road in Pickering during Thursday's morning commute. The OPP says the tractor-trailer smashed  through the centre median and ended up on its side, blocking traffic lanes.

No one was seriously hurt in the collision but express and collector lanes past Whites Road were blocked while the mess was cleaned up. The collision caused a large backup of westbound traffic and OPP recommended drivers try to find alternate routes.
