Highway 27 crash leaves 1 dead and 3 injured
A 44-year-old man was killed while attempting to turn off Highway 27 this morning, after Toronto police say sedan was hit by an SUV.
Police say the southbound Mazda Protege was attempting to turn left onto Belfield Road when it was struck by a Ford Escape coming up behind it.
That crash led to a chain reaction that involved four other vehicles. Police say they were called to the scene at 6:18 a.m.
Police say the Mazda driver was pronounced dead in hospital.
Three other drivers went to hospital "with various levels of injury," police say.
The collision remains under investigation.
