High-speed chase ends in convenience store crash
Driver charged with multiple offences
A high-speed police chase in the city's west side ended with the fleeing vehicle crashing into a convenience store on Wednesday night.
Police said that a unit was sitting at the corner of Armadale Avenue and Bloor Street when a car with four occupants sped by shortly before midnight. The officer tried to pull the car over, but the vehicle made no attempt to stop.
The vehicle then mounted a curb and slammed into a convenience store, at which point all four occupants attempted to flee the scene.
Three people were taken into custody while the fourth managed to escape.
Two females were taken to hospital with minor injuries, and both have since been released without charges.
The male driver of the vehicle was arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime, fleeing the scene, operating a motor vehicle with no license and common nuisance.
