What began as a report of a person with a gun turned into an investigation into a pair of home invasions in west-end Toronto last night.
Just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Toronto police received a gun call at an address on Clearview Heights, in the Black Creek Drive and Trethewey Drive area.
Clearview Heights is a small side street lined with two-, three- and four-storey low-rise apartment buildings.
Soon after the first call, police received a second call about a gun was reported at a building on the same street.
The CBC's Colin Butler reported Thursday that both calls related to home invasions in which the suspects fled the scene.
So far, police will not link the two incidents, which happened just minutes apart.
It is not yet clear how, or if, the home invasions are linked to a single-vehicle crash on a residential street near Keele Street and Rogers Road in which a dark-coloured SUV struck a hydro pole.
Officers recovered a firearm from the scene, but won't say whether any arrests were made.
