Police responded to two GTA traffic fatalities Monday night.
A rollover claimed the life of a woman in her 20s as she walked her dog on Thornhill Woods Drive in Vaughan.
After striking the woman, the vehicle continued off the roadway, struck several trees, drove over a hydro box and then came to rest after flipping several times.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The dog also did not survive.
Police described the driver and passenger of the car as elderly. They were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Police could not comment on whether speed was a factor in the accident. It was also raining heavily at the time. Police are continuing their investigation and have not said whether there will be charges.
Homeless man hit on bike
In a separate incident, a 57-year-old homeless man from Oakville was killed while cycling in Milton.
He was struck by a Buick Rendezvous SUV at the intersection of Main Street East and Wilson Drive at about 9:30 p.m.
The 62-year-old driver was not injured and both the vehicle and the bike are now being examined by collision reconstructionists, police said.
Police said that given the dark and rainy conditions at the time, investigators will be looking at the visibility of victim's clothing.
There was no word on possible charges.
