GO Transit fares to go up

The Metrolinx Board of Directors unanimously approved a GO Transit fare increase for February 1, 2014.

GO Transit will see a fare hike on February 1, 2014.

The Metrolinx Board of Directors unanimously approved a GO Transit fare increase for February 1, 2014.

Adult single tickets are increasing by 35 to 55 cents, an average of seven per cent, and adult Presto tickets will increase 30 to 45 cents, an average of five per cent increase.

GO fares vary by destination, so the cost per single adult ride when using a paper ticket will increase:

  • 35 cent increase on current fares between $4.85 and $6.15.
  • 45 cent increase on current fares between $6.16 and $7.80.
  • 55 cent increase on current fares greater than $7.80.
