GO train hits truck west of Toronto, minor injuries reported
A GO train collided with a truck west of Toronto on Tuesday night, forcing hundreds of passengers to rely on buses to get home.
The truck collided with the GO train bound for Milton from Union Station just east of the Dixie GO station in Mississauga at around 7:30 p.m. ET.
Approximately 800 passengers were on board the train at the time. No serious injuries were reported, but there were a couple of minor injuries. Those passengers were transported to a local hospital.
Peel police assisted all the passengers off the train. Those who needed to travel further westbound were forced to wait for buses that were sent to take them the rest of the way.
Police said a truck was stalled on the tracks at the time of the collision, but no one was in the truck.
An investigation is ongoing.
