Firefighters battle overnight blaze in Rexdale

Toronto firefighters are investigating the cause of an overnight fire that spread to two homes in Rexdale.

Two families scrambled to safety after a fire hit two homes overnight Monday in Rexdale.

The fire broke out at around 3 a.m. in a garage at a home on Clearbrooke Circle near Kipling and Rexdale Avenues, according to Toronto fire. It quickly spread to a neighbouring garage.

Minor damage was caused to one of the homes the home.

Residents said that there were some oxygen tanks stored in one of the garages but there is no word yet on what caused the fire.

The fire was completely put out by shortly after 9 a.m. 

No injuries were reported.
