A three-alarm fire caused massive damage at a fish processing plant in the Bloor and Kipling area of Etobicoke on Saturday morning.
At about 7:30 a.m., fire crews responded to the blaze at North Fish Company located at 23 Six Point Rd., near Norseman Road.
There were no injuries reported but the fire sent plumes of smoke southward, at times causing visibility problems for drivers on the Gardiner Expressway.
The Toronto fire department's north division commander Bob O'Hallarn said crews entered the building shortly after arriving before being forced back by the flames.
"At one point fire started to come through the roof and the walls started to collapse so we ordered everybody out and went defensive," he said.
There is no word on what may have caused the fire.
