A power outage in Etobicoke left thousands in the dark Friday night.
Some 6,100 customers — between Highway 401 and Eglinton Avenue, and from Highway 27 to Jane Street — lost power shortly before 10 p.m. according to Toronto Hydro.
The power company blamed the blackout on a pole fire on Ronson Drive.
Power was soon restored to about 2,000 customers, but Toronto Hydro said the others could be in for a "lengthy delay."
It is the second blackout to hit Toronto this month, following an outage that affected some 120,000 customers during the Passover holiday.
An ETOR cannot be given until damage to the pole has been assessed by crews on site. Please standby for updates. #darkto— Toronto Hydro (@TorontoHydro) April 26, 2014
