Elderly woman dies after being struck by van

An elderly woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle this morning in the city's east end.

An elderly woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle this morning in the city's east end.

Police say a 90-year-old woman was attempting to cross Dundas Street East at Broadview Avenue when she was hit by a van.

The driver, a 62-year-old man, had been going southbound on Broadview Avenue and was turning left onto Dundas Street East.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, and later died.
