Driver fled on foot after 2 collisions in Brampton, police say
Accused faces 5 charges including impaired and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
A driver got into consecutive collisions in Brampton, Ont., after which he tried to flee the scene of the second crash on foot, police say.
The Ontario Provincial Police say that a call came in at 7:46 p.m. Saturday about a single-vehicle crash on the southbound Highway 410 near Bovaird Drive.
Police allege that a person who tried to provide assistance after the crash was assaulted by the driver.
According to police, the driver drove on, exited the highway at Williams Parkway, but soon became involved in a second collision near Southlake Boulevard.
The driver tried to flee the scene, but was arrested.
Police say Olusegun Olarewaju, 45, of Woodbridge, Ont., faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault, fail to comply with recognizance and failing to provide a breath sample.
