Drake received a key to the city — the city's highest honour — at the kick-off to NBA All-Star weekend festivities Friday night.

"This is one of the biggest moments of my life, if not the biggest moment of my life," Drake said after receiving the key at Ricoh Coliseum, where the 6God is leading the Canadian squad at the celebrity game.

"I just want to say thank you to a city that is unconditionally supportive, unconditionally loving."

"I will never stop loving this city. I will never stop representing this city."

Tory praised the 29-year-old for inspiring people.

"You promote the city. You are devoted to the city. You love the city," he said.

"This is non-transferrable, not even to Lil Wayne," Tory quipped, referring to a lyric in Drake's Summer Sixteen single released in late January and rapper Lil Wayne.

Drake is expected to release his new album Views from the 6 in April. Dozens of billboards are scattered across the city touting its eventual release.
