A cyclist was raced to hospital after after colliding with a vehicle in York Region on Wednesday.
York Regional Police said the collision took place at around 1:05 p.m. near Black River and Scotia roads in Georgina, Ont., which is located 87 kilometres north of Toronto.
Police told CBC News that the male cyclist is in very serious condition. An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but it was not used to transport the male to hospital, according to police.
It remains unclear what caused the collision, but police said the driver remained at the scene.
Police warned there could be delays in the area as they investigate. Anyone who may have seen the crash is asked to contact police.
