Court date for grandmother of child who died in hot car

A woman facing charges in the death of her toddler grandson in a sweltering car is to appear in court today in Milton, Ont.

Leslie McDonald, 51, is charged with criminal negligence causing death and failing to provide the necessities of life.
Her grandson, Maximus Huyskens, died on June 26, a month before his second birthday.
Police have said the boy died after being exposed to high-level temperatures for an extended period of time in the car parked outside the Milton home.
Police have said the child was in the care of his grandmother while his father was at work and his mother was at an appointment.
