A woman walked away with minor injuries after crashing her car into a pond in -12 C weather this morning.
It happened around 2 a.m. on William Kitchen Road, located in the Kennedy Road and Progress Avenue area of Scarborough.
The security officer was on patrol behind a shopping plaza when the car she was driving jumped a curb, crashed through a fence and went into the pond. She managed to get out of the car, which was almost fully submerged.
She then scrambled up a hillside and called for help.
The woman was treated for minor hypothermia in hospital and is expected to be OK.
Tow truck operators may now need to use divers to hook up the partially submerged car to get it out of the water.
