Mimes, magicians and acrobats among the 60 performers
Scotiabank Buskerfest is underway, with Yonge Street from Richmond to Gerrard streets dedicated to mimes, magicians, acrobats, circus troupes, one-man bands and much more.
More than 60 street performers will be on the strip this weekend. Entry to the BuskerFest area is by donation, which benefits Epilepsy Toronto. Performers will also ask for donations, which is their sole source of compensation.
Yonge Street is closed Thursday from Richmond to Gerrard streets and will re-open at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday for the festival. Vehicle traffic will be able to cross Yonge Street at Queen, Dundas and Gerrard streets, organizers say.
