Brampton man Rupie Budhu, 43, dies in stabbing
Three men each face first-degree murder charges in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in Brampton in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police say Rupie Budhu, 43, and several other people became involved in an altercation on Skyvalley Drive, near Cottrelle Boulevard and Gore Road shortly after 12:30 a.m.
Budhu was rushed to hospital with stab wounds, but did not survive.
It is not clear what led to the altercation. The victim had arrived home in a taxi shortly before he was stabbed.
Homicide investigators were still canvassing the neighbourhood hours after the incident.
The three accused — Moses Torrezao, 51, Nicholas Persaud, 18, and the boyfriend of Torrezao's daughter, Kevin Mahabir, 21 — are due to appear in court for a bail hearing on Tuesday.
